Last month my niece Tiffany graduated from Brock University. Congratulations Tiff.

Also last month my mom and my sister Cathy came here for a weekend and we had a wonderful time. They came late on Friday night, on Sat. we just took our time. We went to the Tourist Information building to get some info on our ladies trip in Sept. Then we went for fries under the bridge

(fries under the bridge....the bridge is the Bluewater bridge this bridge joins Sarnia to Port Huron. And around this bridge the city made a nice park and walkway along the river (St. Clair river which runs into Lake Huron)Also around the bridge is a couple of french fry trucks. So this has come to be known as fries under the bridge tho technically the trucks aren't right under the bridge.
The people that bought our house moved into it a couple of weeks ago. Owen and I cleaned it out the day before to have it ready for them and it kinda felt a little sad that I would never be in it again. Owen spent a little bit of time there after I left to reminisce. I am just glad that everything worked out and all is well.
I have watched several movies since I last posted. Here is a few of them.
After The Thin Man, The Oscar and The Desperate Hours.
Now anyone that knows me knows that I love William Powell. He is the star of The Thin Man series. He stars in them with Myrna Loy who is also a wonderful actress. These movies are awesome they have very clever humour, these 2 actors are so good together. Powell is just like Cary Grant (my all time favourite actor) they can do comedy and drama and slapstick so well. You really need to see at least one Thin Man movie, I recommend the 1st one which is simply called The Thin Man you will enjoy it.

The Oscar is not a movie I would generally watch, but it was on TCM and I just started watching it. It was OK. It really gives you an insight to what Hollywood is like (at least back in the 60's) and it is ruthless. I am glad I saw it but I am almost sure I will never watch it again.

The Desperate Hours stars Humphrey Bogart. I have seen this a few times. It is about 3 escaped criminals who hideout in the home of a family. They sure are mean. But good overcomes evil. I like the movie tho not really sure why, the acting is very good. I would watch it again.

Last week Owen and I got library cards. We have been meaning to get them and since we had some errands to run downtown we got them. Owen wanted one particular book which was out and I got Wuthering Heights. So now when I read the book I picture Laurence Olivier as Heathcliff and Merle Oberon as Cathy. They are the ones who starred in the 1930's movie version of the book. So far I am enjoying the book.
