Has It Really Been That Long
Well here it is Feb. 2010 and this is my first entry of the year.
I love to blog hop and see all the beautiful blogs out there, and in a sense go visiting around the world. There are so many different interesting blogs and so many wonderful bloggers who really care about God, their families, their environment, who are willing to share their stories, crafts, ideas. It really is it's own little world. So I get caught up in these blogs, by the time I get to mine, I am either blogged out, or have somewhere else to be or simply run out of time. Enough said, I am here now, so let theshow blogging begin.
If you like taking pictures there are so many photo memes out there. Everyday of the week there is at least one.
Sunday : I am sure there is one, don't have one listed, I will get back to this.
Monday: Mellow Yellow Monday, the pictures all have some yellow in them.
Tuesday : Ruby Tuesday, the pictures all have red in them
Wednesday: Window Views 2, the pictures have windows and door themes.
Thursday: Tablescape Tuesday, if you can believe it the pictures are table settings. I have seen some pretty nice dishes and the table settings are very impressive.
Friday: Sky Watch Friday, you guessed it pictures of the sky. This is one of the most popular memes, often times they have close to 400 entries from all around the world every week. The pictures are amazing, I have put in a couple pictures.
Saturday: Pink Saturday, all things pink.
These are just a few, there are ones for animals, the world, metamorphism's of things, all things to do with water, pictures that are in monochrome, the outdoors and even postcards (I love postcards). So whatever your interest there is either a blog about it or a meme or both. How about you do some blog hopping today.
I am hoping to mention other blogs that I enjoy going back to often, they are usually colourful and have something to offer, I like feel good blogs ones that make me feel good, of course I like blogs that offer photo tips or photo of the day, scrapbooking blogs, craft blogs, and eating healthy blogs.
So today I will start with a feel good blog.
The Farm Chicks.
She has lots of ideas for crafts, decorating, cooking and it just a nice looking blog. Check it out, I think you will like it.
Also my daughter Amberley has a new blog, all about eating healthy click here to see it.
Here are some pictures from this past Christmas. All my kids and their kids were together for 1 day, Boxing Day. My brother and his wife Penny had Christmas this year and we had a wonderful time.
These are my 4 grandchildren, Gavin, Rain, Sydney and Ethan. Poor Sydney she had enough of Christmas at this moment.
These are my beautiful kids. Brittany, Owen and Amberley.
The next 2 pictures are of same people and pose just 2 different years. These young men are all of my mom's grandson's.
This year in September my daughter Brittany is getting married, in London. So how exciting is that.
This is their official engagement picture, it was taken by me at Rock Glen Conservation Area. Here are some other pictures that I took that day that I like.
Also another feature I was thinking of adding was Flashback Pictures, pictures taken many years ago, it can be of anything but should be at least 10 years old. Here's one to show you.

These young fellows are my brothers, Mike and Chris
One last picture, it is a fun one.
Almost everyone that was there at Christmas had a cell phone, so we took a picture of all the cell phones there.
Enjoy your day and all the best for 2010.

Thanksgiving and Birthdays

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Owen and I are going to Chatham today to spend the day with family. Instead of the traditional turkey we are having potluck. As long as we are together that's all that matters. Of course with all mom's grandchildren getting older most of them won't be there. They are either at school or working. We have a day of togetherness, food and games planned, I can't wait.
I am thankful for:
my mom
my children and my grandchildren
that my sister's surgery went well
I have a good job with an understanding boss
that I live in Canada
that I have good friends
my car (without it I wouldn't be able to go to Chatham)
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and don't forget to remember what you are thankful for.

Birthday's this month are:
3rd - my brother, Chris

4th - my son, Owen
12th - my niece, Tiffany
14th - my sister-in-law, Penny
Happy Birthday to all of you.

Perry and Amberley came here last night, so we played Settlers and Trivia Pursuit. Amberley won Settlers, I had 7 points but it wasn't enough to win. We played on teams for Trivia Pursuit, Perry & I were on one team, Amberley & Owen were on the other team. Both teams had all six pies, so it was a matter of who got to the centre first and answered the question right. Amberley & Owen won the game. Between the 4 of us we actually answered a lot of questions. It was a lot of fun.

Other Stuff
I had a wonderful trip, which I will post about later, I am too tired right now.
For supper tonight I cooked fast fry steak in onions & stir fry sauce. The sidedishes were mashed potatoes and Lipton Sidekicks rice. Owen even told me that it was good. Thanks Owen.
I found out that we are making a day trip to Michigan on Sunday to see my aunt & uncle. Now I just have get it off.
Some old pictures:

Easter
Today is Easter Sunday, Christ is risen. Praise God
This my dear grandpa with my sister Cathy, me, my cousin Bill in 1961.
This is of my brothers Mike and Chris, not sure the year maybe 1970.

When I was a child so long ago Easter also meant new clothes, shoes, hats and maybe a purse and a pair of gloves (the nice feminine kind, at one point this was very fashionable to wear gloves whenever you went out of the house). For us it meant packing up the car and leaving our house in Michigan and travelling to Chatham, Ontario usually by ferry. Grandma and Grandpa would be there waiting for us to arrive. Grandma always greeted us with her long smooches. I don't ever remember going there for only a day trip, whenever we went their we stayed a couple of days. Then on Easter Sunday my aunt (mom's sister) and her family would come to grandmas and we had a lovely day. Somehow the Easter bunny always knew where we were and delivered some pretty awesome baskets. These were good times, with lots a wonderful memories.

Which is pretty great considering they just arrived home on Monday from a missions trip to Guatemala. Now that all of moms grandchildren are older we never know who is going to be there. As I write this I am not sure if Owen and I can go I am just getting over my cough/cold and my head is pounding. I will have to decide by noon, because if we do go it is an hours drive and I need to pack, because we would be staying overnight. And then we would able to play Settlers. Speaking of Settlers I asked my niece, Tiffany to pick up the original Settlers of Catan for me. So if she did get it (there is a game store close to where she lives in St. Catherine's) she will bring it today and then I will have my very own Settlers. A dream come true.....
I hope you all have a nice day and that all you dreams come true today.
Here are some pictures of our annual Easter football game from 2007.

My Dad

Today is the 9Th anniversary of my father's death. He went into the hospital for pneumonia but because of complications from diabetes he never came out, so it was very unexpected. Man do I miss him. I know I could not of had a better dad. Behind his gruff exterior was a teddy bear, and anybody that knew him remembers his big jolly laugh. He loved reading about history, he had a huge library of history books. He loved all of us so much after we were all moved out of the house he became a friend. He adored his grandchildren he was so good to them, he only knew 8 of them, Logan came along about 5 months later. But I know my brother, Chris tells him about his grandpa all the time. I keep thinking how much he would of loved being around his great grandchildren.

Rain made this picture for me when he was here. It is a picture of me, don't I look awesome.

Have a
good Tuesday.
