Mother's Day and other stuff

This has been a busy month. I don't seem to have time for anything. A little bit of time here and there but nothing significant. Oh well.

Mother's Day was this month so I would like to take this opportunity to say how blessed I am to have the mom I have. She loves God, her family, her friends. She is so giving and thoughtful and caring. She has been a widow for almost 10 years and she has come so far I am so proud of her. Instead of feeling sorry for herself and hiding away, she drove on. My dad did everything for her, after he died she had to learn everything. She learned how to change a furnace filter, do all the banking, how to invest, drive to Hamilton (to my brother's), she is learning the computer now. The one thing she hasn't learned yet is how to say no, when she is asked for help or even when she is asked just to go out with her friends. She gets herself overtired. She is a wonderful person she is my friend, my mentor and very happily she is my mom. I love her so much. Also this month it is Logan's ninth birthday. After all he has gone through in the last month I hope he has the best day ever. Here is an update on Logan he has been home from the hospital for about a week now. Maybe he can go back to school by the end of the month. He only needs his dressing changed once a week and his pain killers have been cut. What a brave little guy he has been, through all of this.

This is the long weekend and I have to work on Sat. and Mon. but at least I get paid time and half on Mon.

Owen has been very busy with rugby. He has had 2 tournaments in London and 1 in Toronto. They have won every game they played this year except for 2. And those were to the same team.

Well all the season finales are on now. CSI's was last night, so long Warick. And what an ending to Survivor, Parvarti winning the million dollars I was sure Amanda would win. I wonder what is going to happen between Amanda and Ozzy. Monday is Dancing with The Stars and on Thursday is Lost.
Lost was so good last night. I am wondering what was the reason for telling that version of the crash, the number of survivors and how they got off the island. I am thinking it is part of the settlement with Oceanic but Owen thinks they are protecting the ones that stayed on the island. I can't wait to find out.

Here are some random pictures.

Lost, Survivor and My Camera

I watched Lost tonight I found it a bit confusing but still good. I am guessing Ben was right about the people on the boat not their to rescue them. I am glad that Desmond and Penny got to talk.

And on Survivor its a good thing Ozzy won the idol because he is surely the biggest threat of all the people and would surely be voted off just because of that.

I am off tomorrow and plan on finishing the unpacking. And then the next step is hanging pictures and mirrors. I would like to enlarge some of the pictures I have taken and frame them or plaque them and hang them up. I am off next Saturday so I was thinking of taking Owen and going to different stops along the St. Clair River and take pictures of him posing in different positions and on/in/by different props. I have had my Canon Powershot for a year and I still haven't learned all the features of it. So this would be a good time to learn.

I took March break off and I can't wait. I have no real plans except to totally get the unpacking done and the townhouse the way I want it.

Have a good Friday.

Cross Border Shopping & Survivor

Since I last posted I have been busy. Last Saturday I went to Port Huron with my mom and sister in law. It is only 5 minutes from where I live, but you never know how long you have to wait at the border. At the US customs we waited about 15 minutes, not to bad. When we came back into Canada we got right up to the customs booth, and guess what we didn't have to pay any duty. We thought for sure we would because we spent $1000 between the 3 of us. But we had a great day, we bought a lot and simply had fun. We had a beautiful lunch at the Olive Garden, which are not in Canada. I have returned 2 more times to Port Huron on Monday with Owen, who wanted to get some clothes and then on Wed. by myself, to do more Christmas shopping. I finished my shopping that night at Wal-mart here in Sarnia. Now just to get the wrapping done.
---------------------------------------------------------
On Wednesday my neighbour had a girls night at her house. It was very nice, she had snacks and drinks but best of all was the visiting. It was a nice time.
---------------------------------------------------------
Last night and into today we had a blizzard. It sure was pretty, but not very good for driving in. I had to work today and so did Owen. I left early because we weren't busy. And the place where Owen works closed an hour early. The snow is higher than my dog, she isn't quit sure where to do her business, but she is smart and found a place right in the middle of our driveway, oh well. She is just to cute.
--------------------------------------------------------
Well another Survivor has come and gone. I was totally surprised that Todd won, but win he did. I really didn't like the way he lied and stabbed people in the back so often, but I guess in the long run he played the game. Of the 3 I didn't really like any of them, but I was sure it was going to be Amanda. Courtney said some mean things while in China, she just doesn't seem like a very nice person, but the one thing you could say about her was that when she said something it was the truth, she was honest if nothing else.

Rain, Owen, Christmas, Zehrs and so on

The other day Owen loaded the dishwasher without even being asked to. It's not unusual for
him to help out around the house but not very often on his own intuition. Thanks Owen
---------------------------------------------------
On Friday we had Rain for the night. What a good boy he was. He is now being potty trained and he did very well, only 2 accidents. And he went to bed so good and slept in until 7 am. We had a great time together.
On the Sat. it was such a beautiful day, we took advantage of it and hung up our Christmas lights, actually Owen hung them up.
--------------------------------------------------
I worked my 3 shifts already this week so I am off for the weekend. Our store is changing names from Zehrs Markets to Loblaws Superstore, later this month. Most of us are a little apprehensive about the change because there are so many changes in store for us (no pun intended). The look of the store has changed, office staff have changed somewhat, the same ones are still there, but they have a new boss (she is really nice). So we will have to see what the power change does, if anything. We will no longer be able to choose what shifts we want to work, and of course we are loosing some hourly pay. So it is a little scary since we don't really know what to expect. I have been there 30 years so I hope they take that into consideration when it comes to scheduling me on Sundays. I want to be able to go to church (an hour away in Chatham) as many Sundays as possible. I will be pleased if I am only scheduled one Sunday a month. The one good thing about the change is that we do get a big sum of money. We get more if we take the buy out and leave, but we still get some if we stay. For now I have chosen to stay. So I hope the old adage "change is good" is true.
-----------------------------------------------------
Kid Nation was on last night. That is a very interesting show. The oldest boy (15) Greg always surprises me. First he acts up terribly and then he comforts a girl who is homesick. I believe they have hit the half way mark, it is getting tougher for the kids.

-----------------------------------------------------
Survivor is on tonight, I think James better look out, they are out to get him.

On CSI it looks like Sara is leaving the show, now the big question is, is she leaving Grissom as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Here are some pictures of my grandsons

.

Have a great day.

Terry

Note: Brittany just called and the breeder gave her another dog. A male and it is a couple of weeks older than the last one and also bigger. They are happy with the way it worked out, of course she is still sad about Ferrari dying.

Not Much Happening

I met my mom in Wallaceburg this week just to talk. I wish she lived closer so we didn't have to make arrangements to meet. But at least she lives close enough that we can meet in the middle.
On Wednesday Amberley had a dentist's appointment here in Sarnia. So I got to see the boys for about a half hour before I left for work. Unfortunately I mixed my hours with today's. I thought I worked at 12 but I didn't start until 2, today I work at 12. I keep forgetting that I am getting old and my mind needs the help of a paper and pen.
Survivor is on tonight it looks good, it seems they are going to vote James off, I think they need to vote Todd off he is the schemer.

I am transferring some old slides I found when doing some cleaning in the basement. The first one is of my dad with my brothers and a friend. He is wearing his army coat. He was in the US Army during the Korean War. I miss him so much. And the second one is on me (in blue) and my sister Cathy with our beloved grandma Weston. She was the coolest grandma ever. I hope that I come close to being a grandma like her.

Have a great day.
