Easter

Today is Easter Sunday, Christ is risen. Praise God

When I was a child so long ago Easter also meant new clothes, shoes, hats and maybe a purse and a pair of gloves (the nice feminine kind, at one point this was very fashionable to wear gloves whenever you went out of the house). For us it meant packing up the car and leaving our house in Michigan and travelling to Chatham, Ontario usually by ferry. Grandma and Grandpa would be there waiting for us to arrive. Grandma always greeted us with her long smooches. I don't ever remember going there for only a day trip, whenever we went their we stayed a couple of days. Then on Easter Sunday my aunt (mom's sister) and her family would come to grandmas and we had a lovely day. Somehow the Easter bunny always knew where we were and delivered some pretty awesome baskets. These were good times, with lots a wonderful memories.
This my dear grandpa with my sister Cathy, me, my cousin Bill in 1961. This is of my brothers Mike and Chris, not sure the year maybe 1970.

Now a days we usually have Easter dinner at my mom's but this year my brother and his wife are having it in their new home. Which is pretty great considering they just arrived home on Monday from a missions trip to Guatemala. Now that all of moms grandchildren are older we never know who is going to be there. As I write this I am not sure if Owen and I can go I am just getting over my cough/cold and my head is pounding. I will have to decide by noon, because if we do go it is an hours drive and I need to pack, because we would be staying overnight. And then we would able to play Settlers. Speaking of Settlers I asked my niece, Tiffany to pick up the original Settlers of Catan for me. So if she did get it (there is a game store close to where she lives in St. Catherine's) she will bring it today and then I will have my very own Settlers. A dream come true.....
I hope you all have a nice day and that all you dreams come true today.

Here are some pictures of our annual Easter football game from 2007.

Hi Terry,

I just wanted to let you know that I do pop in once in a while to read your blog. Give me a call sometime when you are all settled and I will come over for a Pepsi.
